Transfer a domain from Epik to an offshore registrar

At Epik, order matters: clear the registrar lock and the user lock first, then ask for the code, because unlocking may reset it.

Quick answer

How do I transfer a domain from Epik?

To transfer a domain from Epik, open Domain Portfolio, select the name and choose Transfers > Transfer Domain To Different Registrar. Unlock it if asked, then request the code, which Epik emails. Paste it into TransferOffshore. As of October 2026, Epik requires 60 days of holding and says to fetch the code last.

Epik in the right order

  1. Open Domain Portfolio

Sign in and select the domain in your Domain Portfolio.

  2. Choose the transfer option

Pick "Transfers", then "Transfer Domain To Different Registrar". Epik lists the requirements.

  3. Clear both locks

Turn off the registrar lock and the user lock. Epik prompts you if the domain is still locked.

  4. Remove privacy if asked

A 2020 guide (secondary) uses "DNS & WHOIS" > "Remove Privacy Policy from selected Domain (s):".

  5. Request the code last

Ask for the code after unlocking, since unlocking may reset it. Epik sends it by email.

Why fetch the Epik code last?

Because unlocking may regenerate it. Epik's transfer-requirements page (search excerpt) warns that some registrars reset the code when a domain is unlocked.

A code taken before unlocking can then fail at the gaining registrar. Clear both locks, request the code, and paste it at once.

Where does Epik send the code?

By email, per Epik's help in a search excerpt. A Porkbun guide (secondary) says it goes to the "Registrant" contact email. A 2020 reseller guide showed it on screen instead.

Check both your screen and the registrant inbox. Epik's own help page returned an error when we fetched it on 19 October 2026.

What do you do on TransferOffshore with the code?

Paste the name and its code in the transfer form: one row per domain, up to 20 rows per request. Your current nameservers are kept by default. A .com transfer costs $12.49 and adds one year (all prices). You pay from a crypto balance, with no ID. By ICANN rules, a registrar must hand over the code within 5 calendar days. It cannot hold the code back over a payment dispute (auth code guide).

Epik transfer questions

How long does a transfer out of Epik take?

No official timing could be read on 19 October 2026, and an early-approval method is unverified. Plan for the ICANN default: the losing registrar has 5 calendar days to answer, then the transfer goes through. TransferOffshore shows "Waiting for the current registrar" until then.

Does Epik still accept Bitcoin?

Epik announced Bitcoin payments in 2016 (secondary source). We found no 2026 confirmation, so treat it as unverified. TransferOffshore accepts BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC and asks for no ID. Our Epik comparison covers prices, jurisdiction and the other differences.

Can Epik support help with a stuck transfer?

Epik's transfer article offers free assistance through [email protected], per a search excerpt. Use it if a lock will not clear or the code never arrives. Keep the domain name and the exact error message from the gaining registrar at hand when you write.
