Quick answer

How do I pay for a domain transfer with crypto?

At TransferOffshore you pay for a domain transfer with crypto through a prepaid balance. As of October 2026, you top up at least $25 in BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, send the exact amount on the network shown, and click "I've sent the payment". The payment is credited once the network confirms it. A .com transfer costs $12.49.

Which cryptocurrencies can I use?

You can pay with Bitcoin (BTC), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Litecoin (LTC). Stablecoins (USDT and USDC) keep the dollar value fixed between the moment you send and the moment the payment is credited.

The network matters as much as the coin. USDT is accepted on Tron (TRC-20) and on Ethereum (ERC-20). USDC is accepted on Ethereum (ERC-20) only. Bitcoin, Ether, Solana and Litecoin travel on their own networks.

Cards, bank transfers and PayPal are not accepted. There is no payment method that asks who you are.

Why do transfers use a prepaid balance?

A balance lets one crypto payment cover many domains. You top up once, then transfers, renewals and new domains are paid from it.

The minimum top-up is $25. If you start from the transfer form, the top-up is the exact price of your order, or the minimum when the order costs less. What is left stays on your account for the next renewal.

The full balance rule is in step 5 of "How payment works" below: unused balance never expires and pays for transfers, renewals and new domains.

For a bulk transfer of 20 domains, one top-up pays the whole request. See bulk domain transfer.

How is my crypto payment matched?

Your payment is matched by its exact amount. The payment page shows a coin, a network, an address and an amount. Send the exact amount, then click "I've sent the payment". The payment is matched by its exact amount and credited once the network confirms it.

The time this takes depends on the network and on how busy it is. We do not promise a delay. The table under "How payment works" below shows the number of confirmations for each network.

What should I watch on the network side?

Most payment problems come from the network or the amount, not from the coin. Check these points before you send:

  • Send on the exact network shown. Funds sent on another chain than the one on the page cannot be matched, and they cannot be recovered.
  • Make the exact amount arrive. Many exchanges take their withdrawal fee from the amount you type. Then less arrives than shown. Add the fee, or send from a wallet where you pay the network fee on top.
  • Send in one transaction. Two smaller payments do not match one amount.
  • Keep the transaction ID. If something goes wrong, support needs it to find your payment.

If a payment does not appear, write to [email protected] with the transaction ID and the top-up amount.

What happens if a transfer fails?

A transfer can fail for a wrong code, a lock at the old registrar, or a domain less than 60 days old. My domains shows the reason on the failed line. For a wrong code, a form lets you enter a new one without paying again.

If you decide not to try again, write to [email protected] about the amount paid for that domain: no automatic rule is published for it yet. Money on your balance follows the balance rule in step 5 below.

How are renewals paid after the transfer?

Renewals are paid from the same balance. Auto-renew is on by default for transferred domains, and it takes the renewal price from your balance when the domain is due.

Keep enough on the balance before your expiry dates. If the balance is too low, top up and renew from My domains. Each extension renews at the same price as its transfer, listed on the price list.

How payment works

  1. Top up $25 or more

Choose the amount and the coin (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC). The crypto amount and its rate are locked for 30 minutes.

  2. Send it to the address shown, on the exact network

The payment page shows our deposit address for the coin and network you picked: BTC on Bitcoin, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana, LTC on Litecoin. Send only that coin on that network: funds sent on another network or in another coin can’t be recovered. The network fee comes on top of the amount.

  3. Send the exact amount shown, then click “I’ve sent the payment”

Each top-up has its own exact amount (down to the last decimals): that is how we find your payment and link it to your account.

  4. Credited once your payment is checked on the blockchain

Your balance is credited once we have checked the transaction on the blockchain, after the network has confirmed it. Typical network confirmation times:

    CryptoNetworkConfirmationsUsual time
    BTCBitcoin2≈ 20 min
    USDTTron (TRC-20)20≈ 1 min
    USDTEthereum (ERC-20)12≈ 5 min
    USDCEthereum (ERC-20)12≈ 5 min
    ETHEthereum12≈ 5 min
    SOLSolana1≈ 1 min
    LTCLitecoin6≈ 15 min
  5. One balance for every transfer

If you started from the transfer form, the top-up is the exact price of your transfers (or the minimum, for a smaller order), and the transfer requests go to the registries as soon as the top-up is credited. What is left stays on your balance for renewals and new domains. Unused balance stays on your account and never expires, and it pays for new domains, renewals and transfers. When a purchase costs less than the minimum top-up, the part added only to reach the minimum is refundable on request to support within 30 days of the payment, in USDT or USDC, as long as it has not been spent. The rest of the balance is not paid back, except where the law requires it.

Closed the tab? The pending top-up stays under Billing in your account: open it to see the address and the exact amount again.

Crypto payment for transfers: FAQ

Can I pay for a domain transfer with Bitcoin?

Yes. Bitcoin is one of the accepted coins, along with Tether, USD Coin, Ether, Solana and Litecoin. You top up your balance with at least $25, and the transfer is paid from it once the payment is credited. A .com transfer costs $12.49.

Do you accept Monero?

No. The accepted coins are BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. Stablecoins such as USDT on Tron are often the simplest choice for a transfer, because the amount in dollars does not move while the network confirms the payment.

What if I send the wrong amount?

A payment is matched by its exact amount, so a different amount may not be matched to your top-up. Write to [email protected] with the transaction ID and the top-up amount. Support can look for the payment. To avoid it, check that the exact amount will arrive after any exchange fee.

What if I send on the wrong network?

Funds sent on a network other than the one shown cannot be matched to your top-up, and they cannot be recovered. Always copy the network from the payment page, not from memory, and check it again in your wallet before you confirm.

Is the minimum top-up a fee?

No. The minimum top-up of $25 goes to your balance in full. If your transfer costs less, the part added only to reach the minimum is refundable on request to support within 30 days, in USDT or USDC, as long as it has not been spent. Otherwise it stays on your account for renewals and other domains.

Do I need to give my name to pay?

No. Payment needs no name, no ID and no card. Each domain needs one email that you verify, as ICANN requires: it is the only contact detail we collect. See transfer without KYC.
