Quick answer
How do I transfer a domain from NameSilo?
To transfer a domain from NameSilo, open Domain Manager, select the name and click Send Email next to Authorization Code, under Transfer & Lock. The code goes to the administrative contact. NameSilo Domain Manager: five actions
Unlock
Use the toggle in "Transfer & Lock". For many names at once, tick them and choose "Unlock Domains".
Disable privacy
NameSilo's blog lists this before the code request, without further detail.
Send the code by email
Next to "Authorization Code", click "Send Email". It goes to the administrative contact.
Reset if refused
If the gaining side calls the code invalid, use "Reset Auth Code" and send it again.
Approve in the transfer manager
After the verification email, approve the move in NameSilo's transfer manager, or let 5 days pass.
Why did the NameSilo code not arrive?
Because it goes to the administrative contact, which may be someone else. Check the admin email on the domain before you click "Send Email".
NameSilo's official article returned an error when we fetched it on 19 October 2026. These steps come from search excerpts and NameSilo's blog, so labels may differ slightly on screen.
Can NameSilo support lift the 60-day lock?
No. NameSilo's FAQ, seen in a search excerpt, says support cannot remove the 60-day lock after a registration or a transfer. Plan your move around that date.
Expired domains are another case. A forum report (secondary) says their codes come through a CSV export, and you must opt in to include the codes.
What do you do on TransferOffshore with the code?
Paste the name and its code in the transfer form: one row per domain, up to 20 rows per request. Your current nameservers are kept by default. A .com transfer costs $12.49 and adds one year (all prices). You pay from a crypto balance, with no ID. By ICANN rules, a registrar must hand over the code within 5 calendar days. It cannot hold the code back over a payment dispute (auth code guide).
NameSilo transfer questions
How do I move many NameSilo domains at once?
Unlock them in bulk: tick the names and choose "Unlock Domains". Then collect each code. TransferOffshore accepts up to 20 domains per request, one row each, or a pasted list of "domain code" lines. Larger portfolios go in several requests; see bulk domain transfer.
Does NameSilo accept crypto?
Yes, through Nicky: Bitcoin and other coins load into Account Funds, per NameSilo's payment-options page (search excerpt). TransferOffshore also uses a prepaid balance and asks for no ID document. Accepted coins: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, with a minimum top-up of $25.
Must I approve the transfer at NameSilo?
No, but approving makes it faster. Without action, NameSilo releases the domain after 5 days, per a search excerpt of its help. Approving in the transfer manager, after the verification email, ends the wait sooner. That matters most for a name close to its expiry date.
