Transfer a domain from Njalla to an offshore registrar

With Njalla, you are not the registrant of record: Njalla is. That changes who must act before the domain can move.

Quick answer

How do I transfer a domain from Njalla?

To transfer a domain from Njalla, get the auth code from your Njalla account or its support. Njalla, not you, is the registrant of record, per its terms as quoted on a forum. As of October 2026, its own steps could not be read. Once you have the code, paste it into TransferOffshore; the old registrar then has up to 5 days.

What to ask Njalla, in order

  1. Write to Njalla support

Ask for the auth code of the domain and for Njalla's process to move it out.

  2. Ask about the registrant

Njalla holds the domain in its own name. Ask how it releases the registration to you or to a new registrar.

  3. Expect a written agreement

Its terms are quoted on the Techlore forum (secondary). They ask you to accept in writing the terms Njalla itself is bound by.

  4. Prepare your own contact data

After the move, the gaining registrar's data becomes the registrant data. At TransferOffshore that is one verified email.

  5. Submit at TransferOffshore

Paste the name and the code. Add Domain protection if you want our company, not you, in the registry.

Why is leaving Njalla different?

Because you are not the registrant of record. Njalla registers domains in its own name for its customers, according to Wikipedia and the Techlore forum, both secondary. Secondary sources also describe Njalla as a reseller, not an ICANN-accredited registrar.

So both the code and the registrant change depend on Njalla's own process. We could not read that process on njal.la on 19 October 2026. Ask Njalla support before you plan dates.

Who holds the domain after you leave Njalla?

Whoever the gaining registrar puts in the registry. At TransferOffshore, that is you, with one verified email kept private and free WHOIS privacy.

With Domain protection, at +$29/year per domain, the registry and WHOIS show DomaineGoat LLC instead. You stay the beneficial owner and can take the domain into your own name later.

What do you do on TransferOffshore with the code?

Paste the name and its code in the transfer form: one row per domain, up to 20 rows per request. Your current nameservers are kept by default. A .com transfer costs $12.49 and adds one year (all prices). You pay from a crypto balance, with no ID. By ICANN rules, a registrar must hand over the code within 5 calendar days. It cannot hold the code back over a payment dispute (auth code guide).

Njalla transfer questions

Is Njalla an ICANN-accredited registrar?

Secondary sources describe Njalla as a reseller, not an ICANN-accredited registrar, and we could not confirm either way on njal.la. Ask Njalla support which registrar holds your domain, since the transfer request reaches that registrar. Its answer also tells you whose rules apply to the code.

Does Njalla accept crypto?

Secondary sources say yes, naming Bitcoin, Monero, Litecoin and others, but their lists differ and njal.la could not be checked. TransferOffshore accepts BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC; it does not take Monero. See our Njalla comparison for prices, jurisdiction and data asked.

Can a company stay the registrant after I leave Njalla?

Yes, with Domain protection at TransferOffshore. The domain is registered in the name of DomaineGoat LLC, and you remain the beneficial owner. It costs +$29/year per domain, on top of the transfer price. You can later move it to your own name, or transfer it out with a free code.
