How do I transfer a domain from OVHcloud?
To transfer a domain from OVHcloud, open Web Cloud > Domain names > General information, turn off Protection against domain name transfer, then click AUTH/INFO. Paste the code into TransferOffshore. As of October 2026, the protection returns after 7 days, and the move ends after about 5 days unless you confirm OVHcloud's email.

Go to Domain names
In the Control Panel, open "Web Cloud", then "Domain names", then the domain.
Stay on General information
Find the "Security" area of the "General information" tab.
Disable the protection
Switch off "Protection against domain name transfer", confirm, and wait until it reads "Disabled".
Press AUTH/INFO
Click "AUTH/INFO" beside the slider. A window displays the code.
File within 7 days
Submit the transfer at TransferOffshore promptly: the protection returns by itself after 7 days.
What do the OVHcloud error messages mean?
"User not granted for this request" means your account is not the administrative contact of the domain. Ask that contact to act, or change contacts first.
"Authcode is not managed by OVHcloud, contact the registry to claim it" means the registry holds the code. OVHcloud gives .fr as the example: the code then comes from AFNIC.
Can I speed up or cancel a transfer out of OVHcloud?
You can speed it up, but you cannot cancel it from the Control Panel. Depending on the extension, OVHcloud may email you. Confirming in that email speeds the move; declining cancels it.
With no reply, the transfer usually completes after 5 days. The email is therefore your only lever, in both directions.
What do you do on TransferOffshore with the code?
Paste the name and its code in the transfer form: one row per domain, up to 20 rows per request. Your current nameservers are kept by default. A .com transfer costs $12.49 and adds one year (all prices). You pay from a crypto balance, with no ID. By ICANN rules, a registrar must hand over the code within 5 calendar days. It cannot hold the code back over a payment dispute (auth code guide).

Why did OVHcloud lock my domain again?
Because "Protection against domain name transfer" turns itself back on 7 days after you disable it. A request filed later fails as locked. Switch it off again, check the code with "AUTH/INFO" and resubmit. On TransferOffshore, a failed row shows the reason and a form to correct it.
Does OVHcloud charge to transfer a domain out?
OVHcloud's outgoing-transfer guide, read on 19 October 2026, states no fee for leaving. It only says that transfers to some new registrars may be paid, which concerns the gaining side. At TransferOffshore, the transfer price equals the renewal price of the extension.
Can I get OVHcloud codes through the API?
Yes. OVHcloud documents GET /domain/{serviceName}/authInfo, which returns the code without opening the Control Panel. It helps when you move many names at once. TransferOffshore takes up to 20 domains per request, each with its own code, pasted as a list of "domain code" lines.
