Quick answer
How do I transfer a domain from Network Solutions?
To transfer a domain from Network Solutions, open Domains > Manage > Security, turn Domain Lock off and click Request Auth Code. As of October 2026, the code is emailed to the registrant, and only the Primary Contact sees these options. Paste it into TransferOffshore; the transfer goes through after 5 days.

Network Solutions: from Security tab to code
Sign in as Primary Contact
Only the account's Primary Contact sees the lock and auth-code options.
Open the Security tab
Go to "Domains", pick the name, open "Settings" (or the kebab menu > "Manage"), then "Security".
Turn off Domain Lock
Switch the "Domain Lock" toggle off.
Request the code
Click "Request Auth Code", choose a reason in the pop-up and press "Continue".
Finish DNS work now
Make every DNS change before the transfer starts. None are allowed while it runs.
What should I fix in DNS before leaving Network Solutions?
Everything you plan to change. Network Solutions allows no DNS edits during a transfer and warns that the website and email may be disrupted.
After the move, update the ADNS records at your new host. If your nameservers belong to Network Solutions, rebuild the zone elsewhere and switch nameservers before you request the code.
Why can I not see the transfer options at Network Solutions?
You are probably not signed in as the Primary Contact. Network Solutions hides the lock and auth-code options from other users of the account.
A second trap: if you reset your password and then change certain account details within 7 days, a 30-day transfer lock applies. Make such changes after the transfer, not before it.
What do you do on TransferOffshore with the code?
Paste the name and its code in the transfer form: one row per domain, up to 20 rows per request. Your current nameservers are kept by default. A .com transfer costs $12.49 and adds one year (all prices). You pay from a crypto balance, with no ID. By ICANN rules, a registrar must hand over the code within 5 calendar days. It cannot hold the code back over a payment dispute (auth code guide).
Network Solutions transfer questions
Is the Network Solutions code case-sensitive?
Yes. Network Solutions says the authorization code is case-sensitive, so paste it rather than typing it. It arrives by email to the registrant, within 24 hours according to its auth-code FAQ (search excerpt). If nothing comes, check the registrant address in the domain's contact details.
Will Network Solutions waive the contact-change lock?
Possibly, but it does not have to. Its auth-code FAQ (search excerpt) says ICANN lets providers waive the 60-day lock after a registrant name or email change, without requiring it. The 60-day lock after the first purchase cannot be lifted at all.
Does Network Solutions accept crypto?
We found no crypto payment option on 19 October 2026, so it is unverified. TransferOffshore takes BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC from a prepaid balance, with a minimum top-up of $25, and no ID. The transfer adds one year to the expiry date of a .com.
