Transfer a .online domain to TransferOffshore

Last updated: · 3 min read

Quick answer

How do I transfer a .online domain?

To move a .online, request its auth code, remove the transfer lock, and submit both on TransferOffshore. Radix, the registry, adds one year when the transfer completes. The old registrar has 5 days. A .online younger than 60 days is still locked. As of 19 October 2026, the .online transfer costs $31.49, billed once, paid in crypto.

What happens when a .online domain changes registrar?

Radix runs several new gTLDs, including .online, .site, .store and .tech. Of those four, .online is the one whose lock rule appears in the registrar notes we used: a 60-day registry lock after registration.

The rest is ICANN procedure. The request reaches the losing registrar, which has five calendar days. If it neither approves nor refuses, the transfer goes through. One year is added to the expiry date, up to the 10-year cap.

Where .online differs is pricing history. First-year promotions are common on .online, and renewals cost more. A transfer is billed like a renewal everywhere. So compare our transfer price with your current renewal price, not with a first-year deal.

Your site stays up the whole time. The nameservers stay on the domain unless you choose new ones in the form.

What should you check before moving a .online domain?

  • Compare your renewal price, not your first-year price, with ours.
  • Make sure the domain was not registered in the last 60 days.
  • If you used the old registrar's site builder, check that it has an export.
  • Keep the nameservers if the site is live.

What does a .online transfer cost?

$31.49 for the .online transfer, then $31.49/year to renew (all prices). The year Radix adds is included. After the move, renewals cost the same as the transfer.

Who uses .online domains?

Online services, communities, small businesses and personal sites use .online. Tip: many .online names start as a cheap first-year deal. Move them before the first renewal, since a transfer takes the place of that renewal.

.online transfer questions

Why is the .online transfer more than I paid the first year?

Because a transfer is priced like a renewal. Many .online names are sold with a first-year promotion, and the renewal price is higher everywhere. Our grid uses one price for registration, renewal and transfer, so compare it with your current renewal price.

Does Radix lock new .online domains?

Yes. Registrar notes list a 60-day registry lock after a .online registration. ICANN's Transfer Policy also allows registrars to refuse a transfer in that period. Wait until day 61.

Will my .online site go down during the transfer?

No. The registrar changes, the DNS does not. TransferOffshore keeps your current nameservers by default, so the site and email answer as before. Only DNS hosted for free by the old registrar is at risk.
